In an incident that occurred in the Batıkent neighborhood of Gaziantep's Şehitkamil district, a dispute between two friends for reasons yet unknown ended in bloodshed.

According to the information obtained, a dispute broke out between 52-year-old Sungu Başkaya, who lived in an apartment with his mother, and his friend, 58-year-old Çağlar Köylüoğlu. As the argument escalated, Başkaya opened fire on Köylüoğlu with a handgun.

Çağlar Köylüoğlu died at the scene. It was stated that Başkaya subsequently shot himself with the same weapon.

Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Checks by the medical teams confirmed that both Köylüoğlu and Başkaya had lost their lives.

The bodies were taken to the morgue following an investigation at the scene. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
