On strike for 9 days: Police intervene against workers at Diyarbakır City Hospital construction site

75 workers, who have been protesting for 9 days at the City Hospital construction site for their employment rights, faced police intervention while attempting to meet with company officials.

The protest initiated by workers at the Diyarbakır City Hospital construction site regarding their working conditions and employment rights continued into its 9th day. 75 workers, members of the Construction and Road Workers Union (Yapı Yol-Sen), sought to meet with company officials to convey their demands.

During the workers' request for a meeting, police intervention occurred at the site. The police's conduct toward the workers during the intervention was recorded by bystanders on mobile phone cameras.

Following the intervention, a group representing the protesting workers held a meeting with a company official. It was learned that during the meeting, the company official stated that the workers' demands would be met on October 8.

The workers, however, expressed their determination to continue the protest until their demands are met. The primary demand throughout the process at the construction site remains the improvement of working conditions and employment rights.
