Planned power outage in Istanbul today: Maintenance and connection work to be carried out in 25 districts

Planned power outages will be implemented in Istanbul on Friday, October 9, 2026. According to the schedules published by AYEDAŞ and BEDAŞ, electricity will be unavailable at certain hours in many neighborhoods and streets on both the Anatolian and European sides due to maintenance, investment, connection, and renovation works.

The start and end times of the outages vary depending on the districts and the regions where the work will be carried out. In some locations, outages will begin in the morning and end in the afternoon; in other regions, the work is expected to continue until the evening hours.

WHICH DISTRICTS ARE AFFECTED BY THE OUTAGES?

The outage schedule for the Anatolian Side includes Üsküdar, Ümraniye, Tuzla, Şile, Sultanbeyli, Sancaktepe, Pendik, Maltepe, Kartal, and Çekmeköy. In these districts, outages will be implemented in various neighborhoods and streets, mainly between 09:00 and 18:00.

While outages are expected in some streets of Üsküdar between 09:00-17:00 and 16:00-17:30, work will be carried out in numerous streets in Ümraniye at varying time intervals from 09:00 to 18:00. It has been announced that in some regions of Tuzla and Pendik, outages will extend until 09:30-18:00.

On the European Side, there are planned outages in Esenyurt, Beylikdüzü, Bakırköy, Zeytinburnu, Avcılar, Başakşehir, Bayrampaşa, Eyüpsultan, Çatalca, Esenler, Gaziosmanpaşa, Sultangazi, Güngören, and Bahçelievler.

In Esenyurt, outages will occur at different time intervals in some streets of the Namık Kemal, Koza, Orhan Gazi, Yunus Emre, and İnönü neighborhoods. Work will be carried out in the Sahil neighborhood of Beylikdüzü between 09:00-17:00, and in some neighborhoods of Bakırköy, again between 09:00-17:00.

Outages in Zeytinburnu, Avcılar, Başakşehir, Çatalca, Güngören, and Bahçelievler are mostly planned between 09:00-17:00. Power outages will be implemented in some regions of Bayrampaşa between 08:00-15:00 and 10:00-17:00, and in Sultangazi between 09:00-17:00 and 10:00-18:00.

The reasons for the outages listed in the distribution companies' schedules include subscriber and branch connections, comprehensive substation maintenance, preventive maintenance, SCADA work, displacement work, and renovation of lines that have completed their economic life.

Officials state that planned outages may change according to the work schedule. Citizens are advised to check the current outage hours for their specific neighborhood and street through the announcements of the distribution companies.
