In Istanbul's Maltepe district, police teams who went to an address to apprehend an individual with a finalized prison sentence were attacked with stones and sticks. Two police officers were injured in the incident.
The incident occurred on October 8 in the Aydınevler neighborhood of Maltepe. Teams from the Maltepe District Police Department identified the address where an individual named Ü.O. (39) was located as part of efforts to apprehend wanted persons.

The investigation revealed that Ü.O. had a finalized prison sentence of 6 years and 3 months. It was also determined that Ü.O. had a total of 10 criminal records, primarily for violations of Law No. 6136, drug trafficking, and theft.
During the apprehension attempt, some individuals, stated to be relatives of the suspect, arrived at the scene. It was reported that these individuals attacked the on-duty police officers with stones and sticks. To prevent the continuation of the attack and to ensure perimeter security, the police teams fired 2 warning shots into the air.

Following the events, Ü.O., who attempted to flee, was apprehended and taken into custody through the intervention of the teams. It was learned that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
