Retired non-commissioned officer shoots his wife, then himself
In Aksaray, a retired non-commissioned officer who had an argument with his wife locked their 14-year-old child in a room and shot his wife, then himself, with his service pistol. The woman died at the scene, and her husband passed away at the hospital where he was taken.
The incident occurred on the first floor of the Otuklar Mansion in the Şeyhamit neighborhood. According to the information obtained, retired non-commissioned officer Cesur Bulanık (47), who had an argument with his wife Naciye Bulanık (45) for an unknown reason, locked their child T.B. (14) who was in the house in a room after the argument turned into a fight, and shot his wife in the chest with his service pistol in the living room.
While the woman fell to the ground covered in blood, the retired non-commissioned officer then held the gun to his own head and fired. Hearing the gunshots, the 14-year-old child broke down the living room door and entered, encountering the horrific scene. Finding his mother and father on the ground covered in blood, the child called the 112 Emergency Call Center to ask for help.
Upon the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Because the mansion door would not open, police and medical teams climbed onto the balcony to enter the house. While the first intervention was performed at the scene, the room door was later broken down by police teams to open the outer door. While Naciye Bulanık lost her life at the scene, the retired non-commissioned officer was taken to Aksaray Training and Research Hospital in critical condition.
Cesur Bulanık also could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital and lost his life. The 14-year-old child in the house was taken under protection by police teams. Calling his relatives by phone, 14-year-old T.B. reported the incident by saying, "My father is breathing."
While the Aksaray Public Prosecutor and the Provincial Police Chief who arrived at the scene conducted investigations, the woman's lifeless body was taken to the Aksaray Training and Research Hospital morgue by hearse for an autopsy following a detailed examination by Crime Scene Investigation teams. The Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident.
