43-year-old Cengiz İlkaz went missing in the Kura River in Ardahan while attempting to cross on horseback. Search efforts by teams are ongoing.
In Ardahan, there has been no word from shepherd Cengiz İlkaz, who was attempting to cross the Kura River on horseback. In the incident, which occurred near the village of Ağzıpek in the central district, it was reported that the 43-year-old İlkaz got stuck in a bog while entering the river with his horse.
İlkaz fell from the horse as it became stuck in the mud and disappeared in the water. Upon notification by bystanders, AFAD, medical, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area.
During the search conducted by the teams in the region, İlkaz's horse was found. While it was determined that the horse had died, search efforts continue around the river to find the missing shepherd.
