Tender file in AKP-run municipality draws attention

Certain items in the "Cultural and Artistic Events Organization Service Procurement" tender prepared by the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Department of Culture, Art, and Science have drawn attention. The tender, for which bids will be accepted for 146 different items, will be held on August 24.

Since the tender has not yet been concluded, the total amount the municipality will pay for the organizations has not been finalized. While transportation expenses occupy a significant place in the file, it was stated that at least 86 air trips are planned for artists, guests, experts, and teams that will take part in the events.

According to the report by Cumhuriyet, the accommodation items include a request for 20 single-room and 20 double-room overnight stays in 5-star hotels for guests coming to Gaziantep. 20 overnight stays were also allocated for 4-star hotels. The file also notes that the municipality may request special flight options, such as "business" class, for guests if needed.

The catering list includes 1,000 single-slice boxed baklavas and 500 packages of pistachios to be distributed at festivals, fairs, and promotional events. Additionally, it was noted that two 20-person boats and one 50-person boat could be rented for trips to be held at Rumkale.

The date range in the tender documents also raised questions. While it is written that the events will be held between August 3 and December 31, 2026, it was observed that the start date falls 21 days before the tender date, as the tender is to be held on August 24.
