Cem TV management announces decision to end broadcasts
Erol Işık, who serves in the editorial policy and management of Cem TV, announced that the channel will end its broadcasts very soon.
Cem TV management has announced that they have decided to end the channel's broadcasting life. Erol Işık, who is involved in the channel's editorial policy and management, informed the public of the decision through a statement on his social media account.
Işık's statement was also shared by Cem TV Chairman of the Board Gazi Karadağ. The statement drew attention to issues outside of the channel's broadcasting activities.
Erol Işık stated, "We have decided to end our broadcasts, which we have maintained with great struggle, very soon. Although we established and continued our broadcasts to serve the Alevi community, we did not see the slightest support from that community."
Stating that Cem TV broadcasted to make the voice of the community heard, Işık emphasized that the broadcasting rights belong to them. Işık said, "If we cannot start broadcasting again, the Alevi community will not be able to watch a Cem TV where they can best promote their own beliefs and their own traditions and customs. Cem TV is now gone until we start broadcasting again."
