Journalist Sercan Meriç announced the major shake-up in the media sector through a post on his social media account. According to the information provided by Meriç, the majority of the staff at the Gerçek Gündem website, which is owned by TV100, have been laid off.

Approximately 100 employees have also been laid off at the TV100 channel, which belongs to the Gülseven Media Group, to which Gerçek Gündem is also affiliated. It is alleged that the channel will cease its broadcasting operations in the near future.

Recently, 300 people were also laid off at another television channel, Ekol TV.
