Tele2 Haber decides to end broadcasts as it cannot pay the license fee demanded by RTÜK
Programmer Murat Taylan announced that they will cease broadcasts because they cannot pay the 2 million lira license fee demanded by RTÜK.
Tele2 Haber, which broadcasts via YouTube, has decided to end its broadcasting life.
Announcing the decision, programmer Murat Taylan explained that the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) had imposed a license requirement for the channel and that the requested fee could not be paid.
It was stated that RTÜK demanded a payment of 2 million lira from Tele2 Haber for the license.
Taylan stated that due to economic conditions, even downsizing within the institution had been on the agenda, and that under these circumstances, they had reached the end of the legal deadline.
We cannot establish a television channel. As you know, shortly after Tele2 Haber started broadcasting, RTÜK demanded two licenses from us at once. The license demand RTÜK put in front of us is 2 million lira. When there are economic conditions that make it necessary to even downsize within ourselves, naturally, since we have reached the end of the period legally required of us and cannot pay the requested license fee, we have decided to end the broadcasts we made under the name Tele 2 Haber.
With Taylan's statement, it has been reported that broadcasts made under the name Tele2 Haber will not continue due to the obligation regarding the license fee.
