AKP's Şamil Tayyar reacts to the release of the Polat couple: 'Trust in the judiciary has been shaken'

AKP MKYK member and 25th-term deputy Şamil Tayyar made statements regarding the release of Engin Polat in a post on his social media account.

Tayyar expressed that the release of Engin Polat, following his wife Dilan Polat, has once again shaken trust in the judiciary.

Questioning the release decision for the Polat couple, who are being tried on money laundering charges, Tayyar stated, "The decision-makers must explain to the public the paradox between a charge requiring more than 40 years of imprisonment and a release decision coming after 9 months."

Drawing attention to transparency in the judicial process, Tayyar added: "If everything is a lie, then come out and apologize to the Polat couple. If not, investigate the assets and financial transactions of everyone involved in the decision-making process, from the bailiff to the prosecutor and the judge, and even their entire extended families. If there is corruption, make them pay dearly for it."

Şamil Tayyar used the following expressions in his post:

''The release of Engin Polat after Dilan Polat has disturbed the public conscience.

Trust in the judiciary was already low, and now it has been shaken once again.

The decision-makers must explain to the public the paradox between the money laundering allegation, which requires more than 40 years of imprisonment, and the release decision that came after 9 months.

If everything is a lie, come out and apologize to the Polat couple.

If not, investigate the assets and financial transactions of everyone involved in the decision-making process, from the bailiff to the prosecutor and the judge, and even their entire extended families; if there is corruption, make them pay dearly for it.

Make them pay so it serves as a lesson to the world.''
