AKP's Abdullah Güler: We will show respect to a CHP President
AKP Group Deputy Chairman Abdullah Güler answered questions from members of the press at the Turkish Grand National Assembly's opening reception. Güler stated that if a CHP candidate were elected President, AKP deputies would show the necessary respect.
AKP Group Deputy Chairman Abdullah Güler, in his remarks at the opening reception of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM),stated that if a CHP candidate were elected President, AKP deputies would show the necessary respect.
Güler said, "When there is a CHP President, I hope that AK Party deputies will show the necessary respect by standing up during that period." he said.
MR. ÖZGÜR'S APPROACH IS VERY POSITIVE
Güler also evaluated CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's visit to the Turkish House (Türkevi) as a positive step.
Güler stated, "I thank our colleagues today; they have realized the situation. Mr. Özgür has long been emphasizing the importance of maintaining a stance above politics when the national interest is at stake. He demonstrated this with his visits to the Turkish House." he said.
NEW REGULATIONS ON CYBERSECURITY ARE ON THE WAY
Providing information on legal regulations in the field of cybersecurity, Güler announced that a new structure at the presidency level will be established for Turkey's national security.
Güler said, "A presidency will be established to ensure the security of the IT infrastructure of all public institutions and organizations. This presidency will take the necessary measures against data security threats and cyberattacks at both national and international levels."
TO BE IMPLEMENTED VIA PRESIDENTIAL DECREE
Güler stated that the cybersecurity presidency to be established will be created through a presidential decree. "This structure will operate independently of intelligence agencies. Effective measures will be taken to prevent hackers from targeting the databases of financial and other critical institutions." he said.
Emphasizing that cybersecurity is one of the most important national security issues worldwide, Güler added, "There are already measures in place for the data security of our public institutions, but these need to be carried out with stronger coordination."
