Call from Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu to Mehmet Şimşek: 'Disclose the cronies whose tax debts were erased'

Following the announcement by Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek that those who do not pay their tax debts will be publicly disclosed, journalist Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu has issued a notable call to Şimşek.

Mollaveisoğlu demanded the disclosure of cronies with tax debts, those who have siphoned off the Treasury while paying no more tax than a minimum-wage earner, and those involved in various irregularities.

'WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 128 BILLION DOLLARS?'

In a post on his social media account, Mollaveisoğlu requested the publication of lists of individuals whose tax debts have been erased and those who have abused the Treasury. He also stated that those who transfer millions of liras to foundations and associations for the purpose of tax evasion and bribery should be exposed.

In his post, Mollaveisoğlu asked, “What happened to the 128 billion dollars? To whom was cheap foreign currency sold from the Central Bank?” and stated that the practice applied to tradespeople with tax debts must be fair.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek recently stated in an announcement that they would publish a list of taxpayers with tax debts of 5 million liras or more and that they have given those with tax debts a period of 1 month.
