CHP provincial chair announces resignation

Lawyer Ayhan Oran, who was appointed as the Republican People's Party (CHP) Denizli Provincial Chair in July, has resigned from his post due to health issues.

In his resignation letter dated October 5, 2026, sent to the CHP Headquarters, Oran stated that he was forced to make this decision due to health problems he has been experiencing recently. Noting that he was informed by his doctors that continuing his intense work pace would not be suitable for his health in light of their evaluations and serious warnings, Oran expressed that he made the decision to resign "reluctantly and with great sadness."

Emphasizing that his departure has nothing to do with his commitment to the CHP and the party's struggle, Oran stated in his letter, "I am leaving the office; however, I am not leaving the Republican People's Party or this great struggle itself."

Oran noted that he viewed the provincial chairmanship not just as a position, but as "a great responsibility and an honorable trust." Thanking the party officials and colleagues who trusted him, Oran noted that he felt sadness for having to leave the post due to health problems.

Stating that he tried to keep the CHP's organizational structure in Denizli together and act in line with the party's values during his tenure, Oran said he has no regrets as he leaves. Oran also expressed that his emotional bond with the CHP and its organization will continue.
