CHP Youth Branch President Cem Aydın referred to court with request for judicial control
An investigation was launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into CHP Youth Branch President Cem Aydın due to a social media post. Following a search of his home, he was referred to the court with a request for judicial control.
CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır stated that CHP Youth Branch President Cem Aydın was detained due to a post he made on social media. However, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that Aydın was not detained, but that an investigation was merely launched due to a tweet he posted about Akın Gürlek.

REFERRED TO COURT
Finally, it was reported that following a search conducted at Aydın's home, he was referred to the court with a request for judicial control.

INVESTIGATION OR DETENTION?
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that Aydın was not detained but was summoned to provide a statement.
CHP Leader Özgür Özel, however, said, "Supposedly there is no detention order. If there is no detention order, the police go and invite the person to give a statement, or they are even called by phone to give a statement. They go with 8 police officers and take him to give a statement by force," asserting that Aydın had been detained.
