Devlet Bahçeli's October 29 message: There is no Kurdish issue, and there never will be
MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli emphasized that the Republic of Turkey is stepping into its new century on its 101st anniversary with a strong vision and a spirit of national unity. In his October 29 message, Bahçeli stated, "The Republic of Turkey does not have a Kurdish issue, and it never will."
Reactions had been mounting against MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, who invited PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan to the parliament last week. In his October 29 Republic Day message shared today, Bahçeli said, "The Republic of Turkey does not have a Kurdish issue, and it never will."

MHP leader Bahçeli expressed the following in his message:
"The Republic of Turkey, having left a century behind, has entered the first anniversary of the new century accompanied by a strong vision, under the assurance of the sentiment of national unity and solidarity, and on the basis of the binding nature of its founding philosophy.
The era is the Turkish era; the time is the time of the Century of Turkey.
Generations with free minds, free consciences, and free wisdom are both being enlightened under the torch of the Republic and opening the bright pages of the future.
The Republic of Turkey is a distinguished work of the Turkish nation's noble and historical existence being joined with the continuously ongoing cause of freedom and independence, and a cherished certificate of sovereignty brought about by the art of national heroism and a shared destiny.
In a period when it was deprived of all means of defense, our nation, which did not bow to any lack or despair, succeeded in driving the ferocious enemy that had piled up on the homeland before it with its teeth and nails, its faith and will, its life and blood, and subsequently establishing the new Turkish state based on its sovereignty.
The public has united with the Republic, which means a state form with a democratic system, never to be separated again.
Thus, the armistice and occupation periods that complemented each other have closed, and a brand new era has begun in Turkish history.
As the esteemed Atatürk explained with concise words, the Republic of Turkey has set out on the path of eternity to prove with its works that it is worthy of the position it occupies in the world.
The heroes of the National Struggle, who relied first on the grace of Allah and then on the determination and resolve of our nation, while untying the knots of victories on one hand, gathered the virtue and idea of the Republic in their clear consciences on the other, and brought the opening of a brand new path to life with the power of their wrists and faith.
The Republic of Turkey is the acquittal and manifestation of a noble nation's message of 'I exist and I shall endure' with the blood of martyrs.
The Republic of Turkey is a link added to the chain of Turkish states in history, a bridge connecting the past to the future, the final word that unifies sovereignty and the nation, and the eternal decision and power of will.
It is an inevitable fact that the Republic, which concentrated its founding principles with the unparalleled sacrifice and devotion of the liberation years, needs the same stance and sentiment on the first anniversary of the new century.
We will not consent to the Republic of Turkey, whose roof was woven with victories won front by front against injustice, shamelessness, and the most severe attacks, becoming a toy in the hands of those who are enslaved by their own egos and foreign suggestions.
The Turkish nation, which has never begged for mercy from external enemies at any stage of history, will certainly not make concessions to, nor surrender to, the newly emerged, rampant collaborators who have infiltrated and permeated us, their endless provocations and sabotage, and their treacherous ambitions and goals.
The provocative statements of the political group that still cannot grasp, understand the meaning of, or comprehend the purpose of the compassionate and tolerant hand extended by the Turkish nation, and their crippled positions that cannot be explained by any value judgment, are not constructive; on the contrary, they are irresponsible and destructive in nature.
Those who seek and strive to register the north with the definition of South Kurdistan should carefully refrain from using their last chances, and their insistence on clinging to a divisive and separatist rhetoric is not only a delusion but also renders their fake democratic, virtual freedom, and baseless 'peoples' memorizations as scrap.
While our country's neighboring geographies are boiling and being dragged into chaos, those who resist our message of national unity and brotherhood, and those who still and stubbornly remain stuck in the language of terror, are not on the right path and must see that they are pushing the thresholds of patience and perseverance.
The Republic of Turkey does not have a Kurdish issue, and it never will.
The Republic of Turkey also has no ethnic or sectarian weight or dilemma.
The existing problem is the problem of separatist terrorism, and furthermore, the root of this treachery will certainly be eradicated.
Whoever does not sever their ties with the terrorists who came as far as the TUSAŞ facilities and martyred our five brothers, with the separatist terrorist organization, and with the regional and global centers that hold the patent of terrorism under their control, it is an absolute fate that they will meet on the common denominator of enmity toward democracy and humanity.
There is no question of wavering, deviating, or drifting from the goal of rooting out terror and separatism not only from our lives but also from our national memory.
If resistance is shown to this, methods much harsher, faster, and more violent than the old-style struggle strategies must become inevitable, and no one's tears should be spared.
The Republic of Turkey was not won by favor, donation, grace, treat, or a lottery draw.
It will not be shaken by the aggressive pressures of the internal and external occupying front, and it will definitely not abandon its independent progress in the direction of eternity.
In these days when the consciousness of national unity and solidarity needs to be riveted, my sincere wish is for everyone's unconditional commitment to the indivisible integrity of the state with its country and nation.
I have full, indescribable, and limitless faith that by living and keeping alive the thousand-year brotherhood, we will build the pillars of the Turkish and Turkey Century together, with a unity of conscience and will.
The Republic of Turkey, whose foundation is Turkish heroism and high Turkish culture, will exist forever and will be protected and guarded by the unparalleled struggles of those who love the homeland and the nation.
With these feelings and thoughts, I commemorate the founder of the Republic of Turkey, our first President Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the heroes of the National Struggle, our brothers who were martyred in the TUSAŞ attack, and all our other martyrs with mercy, gratitude, and appreciation.
I say may Almighty Allah be pleased with them all.
I celebrate the October 29 Republic Day of the great Turkish nation and share my most heartfelt greetings, love, and respects."

WHAT HAPPENED?
Speaking at his party's group meeting last Tuesday, the leader of the ruling coalition partner Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, once again called on Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is in Imralı Prison, saying, "If the isolation of the terrorist leader is lifted, let him come and speak at the DEM Party group meeting in the TBMM (Grand National Assembly of Turkey)."
Saying, "Let him shout that terrorism has completely ended and the organization has been disbanded," Bahçeli added, "Let the legal regulation regarding the use of the right to hope be made and the path for him to benefit from it be opened wide."
Stating that they are ready to take responsibility for "a politics without terror," Bahçeli continued his words as follows:
"If everyone is in agreement, we are ready to put not just our hands, but our bodies under the stone. Neither Kandil nor Edirne; let the address extend from Imralı to DEM, and let this heavy and historical terror problem be completely removed from the country's agenda."
