Election remarks from AKP's Şamil Tayyar: He gave a date

While discussions regarding early elections continue in political circles, a notable assessment has come from former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar. In his statement regarding the election process, Tayyar suggested that a decision could be reached in October.

Speaking on a program he attended, Tayyar pointed to the possibilities of general elections being held in November 2027 or April 2028, arguing that the election calendar would effectively begin to operate around this time next year.

Tayyar said, "We have entered the final stretch in politics. Whether the general election is in November 2027 or April 2028, this time next year will be the days when the election calendar will be in effect."

Noting that August has passed, Tayyar stated, "A decision on the election will likely be made in October. Therefore, we have an active year ahead of us. The remainder will also proceed and develop within an election atmosphere."

Tayyar also evaluated the potential presidential candidacy of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş. Stating that he believes Yavaş will clarify his position depending on political developments, Tayyar commented, "He is in a waiting period of his own."
