The suspension of three high-level police officials in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan investigation has also stirred up the political agenda.

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan summoned Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç and National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Chief İbrahim Kalın to the Presidential Complex in Beştepe late last night.

Media outlets close to the government claimed that the agenda of the meeting at the Palace included the suspension of three police chiefs serving in the Ankara Police Department as part of the Ayhan Bora Kaplan investigation, as well as the subsequent launch of investigations into them and the searching of their homes.

It was noted that developments in the judiciary and the field of intelligence were also discussed during the meeting.

Hürriyet Newspaper Ankara Representative Hande Fırat provided the following information regarding the meeting:

"President Erdoğan met with Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç and MİT Chief İbrahim Kalın at the Presidential Complex. This was a meeting planned for last night. It is stated that he wanted to receive information from both individuals simultaneously regarding accumulated issues. In fact, the meeting that was scheduled for his program last night was moved to this evening. Of course, we can say that every current issue is on the agenda. We can say that not only the issues brought to the agenda by MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli today, but also developments in the judiciary and the field of intelligence were discussed. Tomorrow's (today's) group meeting is important. What will he say as a result of the information he received today? All eyes will be on the group meeting at 12:00."
