Fatih Erbakan speaks on Syrians: They must now return to their own country

New Welfare Party (YRP) Chairman Fatih Erbakan was a guest on the 'Sorgusuz Sualsiz' program, hosted by Armağan Çağlayan and broadcast on Ekol TV. Evaluating current events, Erbakan stated that Syrians should return from Turkey.

'WE HAVE DONE OUR PART'

Erbakan noted that a significant amount of aid has been provided to Syrians to date and that billions of liras have been spent during this process. Stating that “Conditions in Syria have changed. There is no war or threat to life,” Erbakan said, “As a state and a nation, we have already done more than our part. We took care of them and hosted them during the most intense period of the war. However, it is best for them to return to their homeland safely from this point on.”

ASSAD SHOULD BE ENGAGED

Emphasizing that the war in Syria has ended and that Assad has reclaimed a large portion of the territory, Erbakan said, “If necessary, the Assad regime should be engaged. Assad won the war and took back 80-85 percent of the territory. He held elections, won, re-established his government, and life has returned to normal. Now, they should be ensured a dignified return to their homeland, gradually, if not all at once.”

Responding to Armağan Çağlayan’s comment, “There is no reason for them to return; they have built a life here, why should they return?” Erbakan said, “Zionists insist that ‘refugees should stay in Turkey.’ There might be something fishy behind this insistence. It could be a matter of them wanting to establish a terror state based on the PYD/YPG there. If Arabs and Sunnis return, this plan would be disrupted.”
