Harsh words for Davutoğlu from Yeni Yol Group Deputy Chairman Selçuk Özdağ: He revealed the offer Erdoğan made to him

Yeni Yol Group Deputy Chairman and Muğla MP Selçuk Özdağ made striking statements regarding the Future Party and Ahmet Davutoğlu during a YouTube broadcast he attended.

Speaking on Gizem Sevinç Selvi's program, Özdağ claimed that during the process of leaving the AKP, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told him, "Let Mr. Ahmet leave, you stay."

Özdağ stated that the Prime Minister of the time, Binali Yıldırım, also called him.

Despite this, Özdağ said he left the AKP because he believed an injustice was being done to Davutoğlu, and he expressed his reaction to the recent process experienced in the Future Party.

I left the AK Party and followed him because I thought an injustice was being done to Davutoğlu; yet he closed the party as if he were closing up a shop.

CRITICISM OF THE PARTY PROCESS

In his assessment of the Future Party's political performance, Özdağ argued that the most important reason for the failure was Davutoğlu. Claiming that Davutoğlu "does not know party politics or organization," Özdağ said that the dissolution process in the party management was not conducted transparently.

Reacting to the process being carried out in secret, Özdağ used the expressions, "What are you hiding? Are you trying to smuggle goods out of a fire? A single person cannot close a party on their own!"

Özdağ also expressed that his personal relationship with Davutoğlu has ended. Stating that he did not attend the wedding of Davutoğlu's son, Özdağ also said that Davutoğlu did not call him when he was summoned to the prosecutor's office.
