İmamoğlu calls it a 'chain of negligence': Attacks the government once again
CHP Presidential Candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained at Silivri Prison, harshly criticized the fatal negligence experienced by soldiers and firefighting teams. İmamoğlu emphasized that the common cause of these tragedies is a "chain of negligence."
CHP Presidential Candidate and Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained at Silivri Prison, has made a striking statement regarding recent soldier deaths and the losses among firefighting teams.
In his statement, İmamoğlu said, "The children of this country cannot be left to die in plain sight. The facts must be disclosed to the public."
In the statement shared by his Presidential Candidacy Office account, İmamoğlu noted that they had received the tragic news of soldiers Hayrullah Halit Karaman and Semih Erdoğan, who lost their lives after falling ill during basic training in İskenderun, and said, "I wish patience to their families and offer my condolences to our nation."
CHAIN OF NEGLIGENCE
İmamoğlu emphasized that the tragic events of recent weeks are too significant to be explained as coincidences or isolated incidents. Making harsh statements regarding the 10 personnel who lost their lives during firefighting efforts, the soldiers who were martyred after being poisoned in a cave, and most recently the young soldiers who fell ill and died under extreme heat, İmamoğlu said, "There is a common cause for these pains: A chain of negligence!"
İmamoğlu's social media post is as follows:
"The tragic news of our two children, Hayrullah Halit Karaman and Semih Erdoğan, who were martyred after falling ill during basic training in İskenderun, has scorched our hearts. I wish patience to their families and offer my condolences to our nation.
What we have experienced in recent weeks is too severe to be called a coincidence or an isolated incident anymore:
The loss of our 10 young personnel on duty in firefighting,
Our soldiers who were martyred after being poisoned in a cave,
And now, our soldiers who fell ill after being made to exercise under extreme heat, our young people who were martyred…
There is a common cause for these pains: A chain of negligence!
In the barracks, in the forest, on the mountain… The children of this country cannot be left to die in plain sight. The facts must be disclosed to the public.
Effective investigations and holding those responsible accountable are essential to stop Turkey from becoming a country of easy deaths."
