İYİ Party leader Dervişoğlu calls on CHP to withdraw from commission: Sharp reaction to 'APO' slogans
İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu reacted to the slogans chanted by DEM Party deputies in Parliament in favor of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan. Dervişoğlu called on the CHP to 'withdraw from that commission immediately' and stated that the National Solidarity Commission should also be dissolved.
İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made statements regarding the agenda during his party's parliamentary group meeting. Dervişoğlu's speech took place in the shadow of reactions to DEM Party deputies chanting slogans in Parliament in favor of Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK.
In response to the events, the party decorated the group meeting hall with Turkish flags. Dervişoğlu's speech was delivered in this atmosphere.
“WE ARE THOSE WHO SEEK LEGITIMACY IN THE CONSCIENCE OF THE NATION”
In his speech, Dervişoğlu touched upon the recent “normalization” debates and the photos of political leaders coming together, stating that his party's stance would not change.
Dervişoğlu stated, “Those who think that our character and ideas will change with a casual meeting or a handshake either do not know us or are confusing us with themselves. There is no wavering in us, there is no deviation in us. There is no worship of power or surrender in us. We are those who seek legitimacy not in photo frames, but in the conscience of the nation.”
“CHP MUST IMMEDIATELY WITHDRAW FROM THAT COMMISSION”
In the harshest part of his speech, Dervişoğlu targeted the attitude of the DEM Party deputies and the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission in Parliament.
Describing the slogans of the DEM Party deputies as “spoiled behavior,” Dervişoğlu called on the CHP, saying, “This spoiled behavior must be ended immediately. When they cannot bring the terrorist leader to Parliament, they are taking Parliament to Imralı. The CHP must immediately withdraw from that commission, and that commission must be dissolved.”
DEMANDED THE DISSOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION
The İYİ Party leader stated that the existence of the commission in question is perceived as an “effort to legitimize terrorism,” and emphasized that the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission should be completely dissolved.
