İYİ Party Deputy Chairman Erhan Usta has demanded accountability following the death of 5 miners in a collapse in Soma.
İYİ Party Deputy Chairman Erhan Usta has issued a statement regarding the collapse that occurred at a mining facility operating in the Soma district of Manisa.
In a post on his social media account, Usta stated that 5 miners lost their lives in the collapse and expressed that what happened cannot be dismissed by calling it an "accident."
A miner's death is not fate. Our workers should not have to pay the price for a lack of oversight, negligence, and lack of precautions with their lives.
Recalling that 301 miners lost their lives in Soma in 2014, Usta said that despite the 12 years that have passed, the same pain is being repeated.
Emphasizing that those responsible must be identified and that those who were negligent must be held accountable, Usta called for all necessary measures to be taken to ensure such tragedies do not happen again. Usta offered his condolences to the families of the deceased miners and the nation, and prayed for the mercy of those who lost their lives.
