Kılıçdaroğlu speaks at CHP camp in Bolu: 'We will tell of Turkey's greatness everywhere'

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu spoke at a 3-day parliamentary evaluation camp held in Bolu ahead of the new legislative year of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Giving messages regarding the new term at the opening of the second day of the camp, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that the CHP must approach Turkey's fundamental problems with proposed solutions.

Kılıçdaroğlu stated that his party must maintain its "moral superiority" and inspire confidence in the public. "We must now address the country's most fundamental problems, explain how these problems will be solved, and give confidence to our people," said Kılıçdaroğlu, adding that in addition to criticism, proposed solutions would also be highlighted.

Emphasizing that they will speak out against injustices, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Our voice will be heard in Parliament, in homes, in neighborhoods, on the streets, at home, and abroad." Regarding Turkey's position in foreign policy, Kılıçdaroğlu also stated, "We will tell of Turkey's prestige, Turkey's greatness, its effectiveness in the region, and its effectiveness in the world everywhere."

The CHP leader stated that they could set aside other debates when the country's interests are at stake, pointing to the importance of Turkey regaining its prestige in its region and the world. Kılıçdaroğlu also directed criticism at the economic policies of Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek; he said that measures against corruption must be taken in a short time.

MESSAGE ON SCHOOLS AND FOREIGN POLICY

Touching on conditions in schools during his speech, Kılıçdaroğlu said that students should be provided with soup, and that soap and clean water should be available in restrooms. Stating that CHP-run municipalities could provide support to schools, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "We will put soap in all schools, and we will also provide a bowl of soup."

Kılıçdaroğlu also stated that there are question marks regarding the Mecca Joint Defense Treaty. Expressing that it should be explained whether the treaty will come to Parliament and what military obligations Turkey has undertaken, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "We stand by every agreement our country will sign as long as it is in Turkey's interests."
