Major feud between AKP's Şamil Tayyar and former minister! He issued a live broadcast challenge

A heated argument broke out on social media between former Minister of National Education and former Minister of Culture and Tourism Erkan Mumcu and former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar.

The dispute began with Tayyar's remarks targeting Mumcu regarding the 2007 presidential election process. Tayyar alleged that Mumcu, at that time, "collaborated with military tutelage" and attempted to prevent the election of the AKP's presidential candidate.

Tayyar expressed his reaction to the fact that Mumcu's assessments—claiming that Abdullah Gül and Bülent Arınç had conspired against Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2007 by collaborating with FETÖ—had found support in some AKP circles.

"How sad it is that Mumcu, who at the time collaborated with military tutelage to block the AK Party's presidential election, is gaining sympathy today simply because of his antipathy toward Gül and Arınç. It is incomprehensible. I hope he doesn't call Bahçeli a FETÖ member too."

Mumcu responded to Tayyar's words with harsh expressions. Telling the former AKP deputy that he "cannot just throw accusations from afar and run away," Mumcu stated that he stands behind his words and decisions, and challenged Tayyar to a debate on a live broadcast.

Mumcu said, "You say what you know on a live broadcast on whichever channel you want, and I will show the truth with documents and witnesses." The former minister also stated that he would reveal truths that he claims have been covered up since 2004.

Following Mumcu's response, Tayyar argued that he was only recounting what he had witnessed at the time. Criticizing Mumcu's tone, Tayyar said, "I ruined your scheme, you are angry. Know that the era of tutelage remnants like you is over." he said.

Mumcu responded to this statement on his social media account as well. Stating that the dispute was not a personal matter, Mumcu issued a challenge to Tayyar: "Since you know the truths, come and say them to my face in front of the nation." he said.
