Mansur Yavaş has made his decision: Will he attend the CHP program?
It has been claimed that Mansur Yavaş, on whom all eyes were fixed ahead of the CHP's September 9 program, will not attend the event despite receiving an invitation.
Ahead of the program to be organized by the CHP for its founding anniversary on September 9, the question of what stance Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş would take became a subject of curiosity.
While it was stated that the party leadership had sent an invitation to Yavaş, according to a report by Nefes columnist Aytunç Erkin, based on sources close to Yavaş's working team, the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor will not attend the event.
Erkin wrote that Yavaş is careful not to take sides in intra-party debates, maintaining his current position. Accordingly, Yavaş is not expected to make a new move regarding his candidacy before the election process officially begins.
In his assessment of Yavaş's political line, Erkin stated, "Mansur Yavaş is currently taking care not to be a party to the 35 percent fight." Pointing out that Yavaş has support among both the ruling party and opposition bases in polls, Erkin noted that Yavaş is following a line that balances the "50 percent plus 1" goal.
