Mansur Yavaş responds to candidacy question with 'election date'

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş visited the stands at the festival area following the opening of the 29th International Beypazarı Festival and answered questions from journalists.

Yavaş stated that the festival is important not only for its commercial aspect but also for transferring local culture to future generations. Emphasizing that Beypazarı's unique dishes and traditions must be preserved, Yavaş said, "We are protecting the culture at every stage."

Upon being asked by journalists about his resignation from the CHP and candidacy debates, Yavaş stated that he does not want these topics to be kept on the agenda too much. Expressing that it is not meaningful to make a candidacy assessment before the election calendar is determined, Yavaş said, "If someone informs me of the date the election will be held, I will say something accordingly. There is no election, there is nothing."

Stating that he is focused on his duty as the Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, Yavaş used the expressions, "Primarily, I am continuing my duty. I am trying to complete it in the best way possible."

Yavaş noted that polemical topics are highlighted more on television, stating that the cost of living in the country and the situation of retirees remain in the background. Stating that they provide regular support to nearly 77 thousand retirees in Ankara, Yavaş expressed that their priorities are "the livelihood of the nation, the roads of Ankara, and its water."
