Message from President Erdoğan on the Sivas Congress

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan released a message on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the September 4 Sivas Congress.

In his message, Erdoğan stated that the Turkish nation brought the War of Independence to a victorious conclusion with perseverance and determination through the decisions taken at the Sivas Congress.

President Erdoğan expressed that the historic decisions taken at the Sivas Congress formed the foundation not only for the War of Independence but also for the future of the Republic, stating, "Today, we also take our steps with the consciousness of commitment to the decisions taken at the Sivas Congress, which formed the foundations of the Republic of Türkiye."

Emphasizing that the younger generations will also carry the spirit of their heroic ancestors to lead the country toward the goal of the Century of Türkiye, Erdoğan said, "The historic decisions taken at the Sivas Congress, which is one of the important starting points of our future, paved the way for the War of Independence and also guided the future of our Republic. The torch lit in Sivas 105 years ago with the love of independence and homeland continues to illuminate our path in our march toward contemporary civilization today. The young generations, who take pride in our glorious history and possess the same spirit and consciousness as our heroic ancestors, will carry our country to the goal of the Century of Türkiye."
