MHP's Büyükataman to Ümit Özdağ: 'His only source of nutrition is slander and provocation'

MHP Secretary General İsmet Büyükataman responded to the claims made by Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ regarding Bahçeli.

In response to Özdağ's claim that 'Bahçeli met with the US Ambassador in 2006,' Büyükataman stated that there are living witnesses to the meeting and that the meeting was recorded, with the minutes sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Büyükataman responded to Özdağ as follows:

"In this meeting, our Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli stated that political integrity must be ensured in Iraq, that sectarian and ethnic division must be prevented, that the PKK terrorist organization must be eliminated, that the planned terrorist state is unacceptable, and that our fight against terrorism will continue.

He expressed his sensitivity regarding our unitary structure, national state, and territorial integrity. He stated that no concessions would be made on issues that pose a threat to Turkey's national existence.

Ümit Özdağ, whose only source of political nutrition is slander and provocation, is accustomed to back-door secret meetings and making the Turkish nation a subject of bargaining in secret protocols.

Therefore, it is normal that he cannot comprehend—or even if he does, he tries to distort—that the Nationalist Movement Party takes a stance in line with the interests of the Republic of Turkey everywhere and at all times.

Because this person has no source to feed on other than chaos. He has no mission other than to carry the votes of Turkish nationalist, patriotic voters through devious paths to the presidential candidate of the terror barons in Qandil."
