'Motion' banner at CHP Headquarters
Before the General Assembly vote on the motion to extend the mandate of Turkish troops in Iraq and Syria, a banner reading "We do not want foreign soldiers' boots in Turkey" was hung at the CHP Headquarters.
Ahead of the parliamentary debates on the motion to be voted on today in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), which includes the extension of the mandate for Turkish troops in Iraq and Syria, a banner reading "We do not want foreign soldiers' boots in Turkey" was hung at the Republican People's Party (CHP) Headquarters.
''IF YOU SAY YOU ARE A NATIONALIST..''
CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had addressed Bahçeli regarding the motion, saying, "You say that as the MHP, you will vote yes to this motion. I have a question for you: Are you saying 'yes' or 'no' to foreign soldiers' boots trampling on the lands of the Republic of Turkey? It is that clear. You say you are a nationalist, and this brother of yours is also a nationalist. One of our six arrows is nationalism. I never, ever want a foreign soldier to come to Turkey" he said.
The IYI Party is also expected to vote in favor of the motion, which will be supported by the AKP and MHP. The Saadet Party Group, formed by Saadet and Future Party deputies, and the DEVA Party, which has 15 deputies, will also reveal their stance today.
