Müsavat Dervişoğlu calls out to Özgür Özel: 'Come, let us fight together'
In his speech at the Parliament, Müsavat Dervişoğlu reiterated his call for an alliance addressed to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, emphasizing, "I had said that that table would not save you, and that an alliance with the Turkish nation would save us all. I still stand by these words."
İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made significant statements regarding the agenda during his party's group meeting at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. While speaking about the process the government is conducting under the title of a "terror-free Turkey," Dervişoğlu reacted sharply to the proposed "status" suggestion for terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Criticizing Devlet Bahçeli's proposal for a "peace process and political coordination," Dervişoğlu stated, "What kind of proposal is this? Where in the world, in which legal system, is a convict granted an official sphere of authority as is being done in the Republic of Turkey? This is madness, madness! Come to your senses! Do not make the world laugh at you! You are not ashamed, but I am ashamed on your behalf. May God reform you, and may He deal with you as He sees fit!"
WORDS ON ABSOLUTE NULLITY
Referring to the CHP's presence in the process commission, Dervişoğlu claimed that pressure was being exerted on the party through a "null and void" (absolute nullity) lawsuit. Arguing that all these pressures on the opposition are part of the one-man rule process, Dervişoğlu drew attention to the importance of protecting democratic institutions.
The İYİ Party leader recalled his past call and addressed CHP Chairman Özgür Özel with the following words:
"Months ago from this podium, I made a call to Mr. Özgür Özel. I had said that that table would not save you, and that an alliance with the Turkish nation would save us all. I said, come, let us learn lessons from the past, fight together, and defeat this authoritarian rule. I said that the moment they left the table, they would find us by their side. I still stand by these words. The beginning and the end of my words are exactly this. We have no struggle other than the sovereignty of the Turkish nation and the revival of the Republic. Along with this, we see that the government's strategy of total destruction of the opposition does not only aim for an election victory, but is also a necessary step for them in the process of one-man rule."
