The September 9 video prepared for the anniversary of the CHP's founding has sparked debate due to the names included and excluded. While the initial focus on social media was the absence of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in the video, it was also observed that former CHP chairmen Hikmet Çetin and Altan Öymen were not featured.

The video included chairmen who left their mark on the party's history, such as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, İsmet İnönü, Bülent Ecevit, and Deniz Baykal. However, the exclusion of Hikmet Çetin, who served as CHP chairman for a short period in 1995, and Altan Öymen, who was elected chairman in 1999 and held the post until 2000, raised questions about the criteria used for the selection.

According to claims regarding this choice, the reason for not including Çetin and Öymen in the video was that both individuals "served as chairman for short terms." It was suggested that this preference was shaped during the chairmanship of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Another notable detail in the video was Erdal İnönü. The inclusion of İnönü, who served as SHP chairman but never held the position of CHP chairman, further fueled the debate alongside the exclusion of Çetin and Öymen.
