Online membership era at YENİ Party: İmamoğlu among the first to join

The YENİ Party has begun accepting membership applications online. The party's Chairman, Özgür Özel, announced the launch of the membership system in a statement on his social media account.

In his post, Özel stated, "The YENİ Party was founded by the nation, named by the nation, and its budget was created by the nation. Now, we are opening our party's doors to all our citizens. Our membership system is open. We invite everyone to become a member of the YENİ Party."

Emphasizing that party officials will be determined by the members, Özel said, "In the YENİ Party, our members will elect the district chair, the provincial chair, and the general chairman. Come, have a say and be a decision-maker."

Following the announcement, it was stated that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was also among the first members. It was reported that İmamoğlu announced his resignation from the CHP on his social media account. Citizens can apply through the online membership address shared by the party.

NOVEMBER TARGET FOR CONGRESS PROCESS

According to the report by Cumhuriyet, party staff stated that a membership campaign has not been launched at this stage, and that only the opening of the online membership system has been announced. It was stated that there were delays in the Court of Cassation's acceptance of memberships due to high traffic in the first hours, but the system accelerated afterward.

The staff said that thousands of applications were made in a short time and that some members also paid their dues. While it was stated that the party's priority is to complete the organization and congress calendar, it was noted that district congresses are planned to be held between the end of August and the beginning of September.

It was reported that the YENİ Party aims to open its headquarters on August 30, and then begin rallies and field work. The party management plans to officially complete the establishment process by holding its grand congress in November.

On the other hand, Özgür Özel is expected to be in Nevşehir on Sunday as part of the Hacı Bektaş Veli Commemoration events and to meet with citizens there.
