Özgür Özel to visit Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu this evening

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel, in his speech at the Ankara Provincial Advisory Board Meeting, provided important information regarding his party's 'Statute Convention' and future government program. Özel announced that he would visit former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu this evening, stating that they would exchange views on the party statute.

WE WILL START THE CHANGE CONVENTION IN SIVAS

While announcing the Change Convention to be held between September 4-9, Özgür Özel emphasized the historical significance of September 4 and stated that the convention would be launched in Sivas. Özel said, "We have envisioned a Change Convention between September 4-9. September 4 will make an important reference to history. We will go to Sivas with strong participation and start the Change Convention in Sivas."

Stating that the work on the statute is in its final stages, Özel said, "On the 5th of the month, the Statute Commission will hold its final meeting. That meeting will give the final form to our statute to be proposed to the Convention. Drafts of the statute are circulating in the air. Could a draft statute have been released without being discussed by the Party Assembly? Some are rough drafts, some are completely fabricated..."

WE WILL PRESENT CHP'S PROPOSAL TO OUR PEOPLE

Pointing out that the issue of how Turkey will be governed will be discussed at the convention on September 7 and 8, Özgür Özel said, "First we will collect demands, and then we will present CHP's proposal to our people. Everyone will learn what to talk about on which subject, our boundaries, our common consensus, and the skeleton of our future government program."

It was learned that Özgür Özel will meet with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu this evening to receive his suggestions regarding the statute and to evaluate the convention process.
