TKP statement on sect operations: All sects and religious communities must be disbanded immediately

The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has issued a written statement regarding sects and religious communities following operations against the Süleymancılar and Furkancılar. The statement argued that the recent operations have created a debate over "good sects versus bad sects."

The TKP alleged that during the AKP government's tenure, sects and religious communities have gained power in critical state institutions and grown economically. The party claimed that the government is attempting to "bring some into line" while keeping others under its control.

The statement also reacted to government ministers defining the operations as actions against "criminal organizations" rather than "sect and religious community operations." Stating that this approach is incomplete, the TKP used the following expression: "All sects and religious communities are criminal organizations!"

The party's statement argued that no distinction can be made between "good" and "bad" sects and religious communities. It was suggested that structures such as Menzil, İskenderpaşa, and İsmailağa could also be part of similar power and interest struggles, even if they appear to be in harmony with the government today.

At the end of its statement, the TKP called for the immediate disbanding of all sects and religious communities, the seizure of the wealth acquired by these structures, and the nationalization of their affiliated holdings.

The full text of the TKP's statement:

One of the greatest pillars of the AKP government since its first day has always been sects and religious communities.

These dark structures, which have simultaneously become massive holdings, have positioned themselves in many critical institutions of the state for years with the support of the government, growing ever larger.

The most prominent example of this, as is known, was the Fethullahists. What happened when they wanted to take the government entirely into their own hands is still fresh in our memories.

However, even after the "bloody finale" etched into our memories, the AKP government did not take a single step to go after sects and religious communities.

In recent days, this debate has been reopened following operations first against the Süleymancılar and then against the Furkancılar. Moreover, it has been done by creating a strange confusion and trap, such as "good sect, bad sect" or "pro-government sect, opposition sect"...

It is no coincidence that the AKP ministers who created this confusion are forced to insistently say, "We are not conducting a sect or religious community operation; these are criminal organizations."

Let us correct this incomplete definition: All sects and religious communities are criminal organizations!

They want to lure the public into a "good sect, bad sect" trap to mask this clear truth.

Yet, the government allows the sects and religious communities under its own control to flourish, while trying to prune the others and bring them into its own line. That is all.

We are talking about sects that own holdings reaching massive proportions and a huge pie. It is impossible for there not to be a struggle over this pie; what we are experiencing today is exactly a reflection of this.

It must never be forgotten that all of them, including the mentioned sects, are enemies of the people, are apparatuses of this order, and have collaborated with the government for years.

There is no such thing as a good or bad sect or religious community!

Once you fall into this trap, it becomes possible to even find "opposition" figures among the Fethullahists, who are enemies of the people, or the Süleymancılar, who are child abusers and murderers.

Sects and religious communities like Menzil, İskenderpaşa, and İsmailağa, which have settled into all the country's institutions today, will not be "good" when they fall out with the government tomorrow over a fight for the pie.

The TKP's word is clear.

This order in which sects and religious communities reign and its government must be brought to an end, all sects and religious communities must be disbanded immediately, the massive wealth these dark structures have obtained by exploiting the people must be seized, and their holdings must be nationalized!
