Türkiye Diyanet Foundation's share in the fund halved in one month
It has been stated that the number of shares held by the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation in a fund investment decreased by approximately 591 million in September.
It has been reported that the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation has significantly reduced its share in a money market participation fund. According to a report by Deniz Ayhan from Sözcü, the decision was made by the President of Religious Affairs, Safi Arpaguş, who also serves as the Chairman of the foundation's Board of Trustees.
According to a report by Oda TV, the foundation's share count, which stood at 1 billion 228 million 259 thousand 509 on August 31, 2026, decreased by 590 million 637 thousand 350 to 637 million 622 thousand 159 by September 29. Thus, the foundation's share amount in the fund fell by half within approximately one month.
The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation's fund investments had come to the agenda after information regarding investors with high shares became visible on the Turkish Electronic Fund Trading Platform (TEFAS).
In a previously published report, it was stated that the foundation had an investment of approximately 2.18 billion TL in the Aktif Portföy Money Market Participation Fund. The latest change was interpreted as the foundation reducing its position in the fund following the public disclosure of this information.
