YENİ Party's Gökhan Günaydın reveals: Look who Özata Denizcilik in the fund scandal belongs to!

YENİ Party's Gökhan Günaydın has joined the debate surrounding Özata Denizcilik shares following the fund crisis. After focusing on the share transactions of former Minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya and her husband İlyas Kaya, Günaydın has now turned his attention to the company's management and its past political connections.

Stating that Özdemir Ataseven, listed as the Chairman of the Board of Özata Denizcilik in the Public Disclosure Platform records, previously served in the AKP Tuzla organization, Günaydın highlighted Ataseven's relationships with former Tuzla Mayor Şadi Yazıcı and former Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım.

In his statement, Günaydın also brought up the increase in the value of Özata Denizcilik shares, reiterating the claim that Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya purchased 250,000 shares for 163 million liras and generated a profit of 1.3 billion liras in 5 months.

“We are pulling the thread, and what comes out will reveal the true picture of the heist of the century.” Günaydın argued that 96 percent of Özata Denizcilik's free-float shares are under the control of 5 funds, claiming that the value of the shares has increased by 1,289 percent in the last 6 months, bringing the company's valuation to 292 billion liras.

Stating that the company is a medium-sized shipyard based in Yalova, Günaydın expressed that it is not normal for a company of this scale to gain such value in a short time. Addressing the Capital Markets Board (SPK) in his statement, Günaydın asked, “Why can the SPK not see what the citizens see?”

Now, let's get to know ÖZATD Chairman of the Board Özdemir Ataseven: When Şadi Yazıcı, who served as the AKP Tuzla Mayor for years, was the AKP Tuzla District President before 2009, Ataseven was his first deputy chairman for political and legal affairs—in short, a 'shrewd investor' who is an AKP member to the core.

To rise rapidly in trade, hard work is not enough; one must keep strong ties with politics.

In this context, when one thinks of ÖZATD, two

politicians come to mind: in local politics, the then-Tuzla Mayor ŞADİ YAZICI, and in national politics, the then-Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım.

ÖZDEMİR ATASEVEN, who is very close to these two politicians, moved his business to Yalova after operating in the Tuzla shipyard during the period when work-related accidents were most frequent. There, he established a shipyard of his own through a special allocation. However, the real windfall for ÖZATD came from the stock market. 

96 percent of Özata Denizcilik's free-float shares are under the control of 5 funds. In the last 6 months, the value increase in the shares skyrocketed to 1,289 percent, and the company's value reached 292 billion liras.

Anyone with a conscience and no specialized knowledge knows that it is not normal for a medium-class shipyard based in Yalova to appreciate by 1,289 percent in 6 months.

Unless this shipyard is producing aircraft carriers or starships, this is impossible.
