Published in the Official Gazette: That requirement for Class B driver's licenses has been removed

With the regulation passed by Parliament last month, significant changes were made to the Highway Traffic Law.

This change, published in the Official Gazette, has been communicated to all driving schools, and a new era has officially begun for license holders. This regulation, accepted by the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), has been recorded as a historic step that facilitates the transition between driver's license classes for drivers. This change, implemented through the joint efforts of the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Transport, concerns many license holders. In particular, the scope of authority and usage for Class B licenses, which are the most common in Turkey, has been completely altered by the new legal regulation. This regulation reshapes the rights and responsibilities of drivers in traffic and contributes to traffic safety.

NEW DECISION FOR CLASS B DRIVER'S LICENSE HOLDERS

Under the new regulation, Class B license holders have officially been granted the authority to operate all motorcycles of 125 cc and under. Thus, drivers will have access to a wider range of vehicles. According to previous regulations, Class B license holders could only operate motorcycles with a 50 cc engine capacity. For motorcycles over 50 cc, it was specifically required to obtain a motorcycle license.

Remzi Öztürk, General Coordinator of the Motorcycle Industry Association, announced that the regulation necessary for drivers with a Class B license to now operate motorcycles up to 125 cc has been implemented.
