Apple pulls the plug on two devices: No more support

Apple has updated its list of vintage and obsolete products. According to the company's new classification, the iPhone X and the 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro have been moved to the "obsolete" category.

With this status change, Apple's hardware service for these devices has come to an end. Authorized service providers will also no longer be able to order spare parts for these models.

LATEST STATUS ON SOFTWARE SUPPORT

Apple typically moves products to "obsolete" status more than seven years after they were last distributed for sale. The iPhone X was left out of major operating system support during the iOS 17 era; the latest version supported by the device is stated as iOS 16.7.16.

On the 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro side, operating system support is limited to macOS Sequoia. Thus, both the iPhone X and the MacBook Pro model in question have fallen outside the scope of Apple's current hardware support.

The decision is significant for those using these devices, especially regarding potential malfunctions and part replacement processes. Since users will not be able to receive hardware repair and spare part support through official service channels, they will need to evaluate their maintenance and repair options accordingly.
