Complaints against internet service providers reach a four-year high

Consumer complaints regarding internet service providers saw a remarkable increase in the first seven months of 2026. According to data from Şikayetvar, the number of applications in this category rose from 67,642 in the same period last year to 78,610. This represents a 16 percent year-on-year increase in complaints.
According to the data, the increase accelerated particularly in July. The number of complaints, which was 10,656 in June 2026, reached 14,498 in July, a 36 percent increase. July stood out as the month with the highest number of complaints recorded so far this year.
A similar upward trend was observed in the weekly figures. In the 31st week of 2026, 3,448 complaints against internet service providers were recorded. This figure represents an 11 percent increase compared to the previous week.
OUTAGES AND SPEED ISSUES STAND OUT
Among the most frequently mentioned topics in the complaints were internet outages lasting for days. Users also voiced issues such as failure to provide the promised speed, frequent disconnections, high ping, fault reports being closed without resolution, and the inability to reach customer service.

In sample applications reflected on the platform, some users stated that they could not establish a connection for days and that no adjustments were made to their bills despite this. In some complaints, it was stated that despite submitting speed tests, no permanent solution was offered, conflicting information was provided regarding infrastructure during relocation processes, and requests for free cancellation were rejected.
When comparing the same periods, the number of complaints against internet service providers was recorded as 49,864 in 2023, 71,034 in 2024, and 67,642 in 2025. The 78,610 applications in 2026 marked the highest level of the last four years. This picture points to an approximately 58 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
