Following a request for information by the European Commission under the Digital Services Act (DSA), X has published its transparency report regarding the moderation of content on its platform.

According to the report, which covers the period from August 28 to October 20, the platform applied its control mechanisms—such as deletion and suspension—against violence and hate speech most frequently for internet users in France.

16,288 POSTS DELETED IN FRANCE

During this period, 7,160 posts were deleted in Germany and 7,743 in Spain for the stated reasons, while this number was recorded as 16,288 in France.

The platform reported that it works with a team of 52 moderators to block prohibited content in France.

Following Israel's attacks on Gaza, the EU had launched investigations into the social media platform X, as well as Meta and TikTok, regarding their compliance with the Union's online rules due to disinformation, illegal, and harmful content on social media.

With the DSA, which came into effect in August, the EU introduced strict rules for social media platforms.

The EU can impose fines of up to 6 percent of their global turnover on digital platforms that violate the rules. In the event of repeated violations, the operations of the digital platforms in question can be terminated within the EU.
