HAVELSAN's new underwater vehicle AVISTA to be introduced for the first time at TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan
Developed with HAVELSAN's own resources, AVISTA is designed for precise underwater positioning, 3D mapping, and ship inspection missions.
HAVELSAN is preparing to introduce its new platform in the field of underwater technologies, AVISTA, to the public. Developed with the company's own resources, the AVISTA Underwater Vehicle will be exhibited for the first time as part of TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan, held at the Gölcük Shipyard Command between August 20-23.
Among AVISTA's development goals, its ability to determine precise locations in environments where satellite-based positioning systems cannot be used stands out. The platform is intended to perform 3D underwater mapping with the data it obtains in the mission area and contribute to the creation of navigation corridors.
CAN BE USED FOR CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE AND SHIP INSPECTIONS
Among the usage areas announced by HAVELSAN is ship hull inspection. The vehicle will be able to be utilized in tasks such as checking the underwater sections of ships, detecting potential damage, and examining the underwater environment.
AVISTA is intended to be used not only for defense-related missions but also in civilian applications such as port and facility security, underwater inspection of energy infrastructure, and the protection of critical underwater structures. It is stated that the platform could also offer a suitable infrastructure for underwater search and rescue operations and forensic investigations.
For HAVELSAN, which has gained experience with unmanned marine vehicles such as SANCAR and RAFNAR, AVISTA is considered a new R&D project that carries its work on unmanned systems into the underwater domain. With the introduction at TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan, the platform's capabilities are expected to be demonstrated to a wide audience for the first time.
