LandSpace achieves vertical landing in space 11 years after SpaceX

China-based company LandSpace has announced that its Zhuque-3 rocket reached an altitude of 350 meters within 60 seconds and successfully performed a vertical landing 100 meters away from its launch point.

LandSpace achieves vertical landing in space 11 years after SpaceX

LandSpace, which has joined the ranks of companies achieving vertical landings after SpaceX, had previously made headlines last year by launching the world's first methane-powered rocket into orbit. The rocket, which took off from a facility in the Gobi Desert, successfully completed a vertical landing.

VERTICAL LANDING 11 YEARS AFTER SPACEX

Space startups and companies are attempting to replicate the successful vertical takeoffs and landings pioneered by SpaceX. LandSpace is one of them, though it has also achieved other milestones.

According to a report by SpaceNews, the Chinese state-owned company CAS Space also conducted vertical landing tests with a small test rocket last April.
