Siemens and Microsoft to collaborate on artificial intelligence

In a joint statement released by the companies, it was announced that Siemens and Microsoft will work together on the "Siemens Industrial Copilot," which aims to program robots and other automation systems much faster with the help of artificial intelligence.

The statement noted, "The program will enable companies to work together to utilize generative AI in the manufacturing, infrastructure, transportation, and healthcare sectors."

Stating that this will make it possible to eliminate errors and shorten simulation times, the announcement included the phrase, "A process that takes several weeks is reduced to just a few minutes."

Siemens' automation and process simulation technology, "Siemens Xcelerator," will be expanded to include Microsoft applications.

In his assessment of the matter, Siemens Chairman and CEO Roland Busch stated, "This technology has the potential to revolutionize the way companies design, develop, produce, and ultimately operate. Making human-machine collaboration more widespread allows engineers to accelerate code development, increase innovation, and overcome skilled labor shortages."

The statement also mentioned that the German automotive supplier Schaeffler is one of the first users of the "Copilot" during its development phase and plans to use it in production soon.
