Sony files patent for interesting device controlled by feet
It has emerged that Sony has patented a device that can be controlled with the feet.
Companies file various patents, and while not all of them make it to market, a large portion eventually appear in devices. Sony has now received an interesting patent that is also useful enough to allow people who cannot use their hands to play games. According to the patent drawings, the spherical devices can be controlled with the feet and toes.
CAN IT BE USED FOR AR AND VR GAMES?
This foot-operated system, which is estimated to have been developed for augmented reality and virtual reality games, consists of two spheres moved by the feet. Another drawing emphasizes a touch-sensitive surface that can be controlled with the toes.
Both controllers are expected to have a CPU and memory to calculate and detect the input of the movements to be made.

Devices with such designs are likely to make VR and AR usage feel more realistic. This is because the VR and AR headsets used today cause users to be restricted to a room, which diminishes the experience.
Sony filed the patents in June of last year.
