Those who share misinformation on X will not be able to earn revenue!
Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform X, has announced that posts identified as containing misinformation on X will be prevented from generating revenue.
In a statement made on X, Musk touched upon a new update to the platform's "Community Notes" feature, which is used to correct misinformation or provide context to posts.
NO REVENUE FROM CORRECTED POSTS
In the post in question, Musk stated, "Posts corrected by Community Notes will not be eligible for revenue share."
Noting that this policy aims to encourage people to prioritize accurate information over sensationalism, Musk added, "It is worth noting that attempts to use Community Notes as a weapon to demonetize people will be immediately apparent, as all code and data are open source."
