What 2024 has brought; one person managed to beat Tetris

Tetris, perhaps one of the longest-running games in the gaming world, emerged as a puzzle game created by Soviet software engineer Alexey Pajitnov in 1985. It was not even known that the game, which could not be finished for many years, could actually be beaten.

THE TETRIS RIDDLE SOLVED

It is technically possible to finish most old games because the game levels become increasingly difficult and hard to pass. Consequently, it may not be possible to reach the end.

The way to beat such games is to force them to crash.

Tetris, which had not crashed for 34 years, crashed in 2024. It was considered impossible to completely finish NES Tetris, but this has been overcome.

On the other hand, until 2011, players could not go beyond level 29. A player named Thor Aackerlund reached level 30 and actually set a record for Tetris. Meanwhile, level 31 was seen in 2018, and level 35 was reached in 2020.

In 2021, level 40 was reached, but in 2024, this slow rise increased incredibly, and by reaching level 146, what was thought to be impossible was achieved.

This was accomplished by a 13-year-old player. Willis "Blue Scuti" Gibson went down in history as the person who finished the game after 34 years. The game froze completely after this level.
