Xiaomi announces models that will receive HyperOS 4's Soft Light Glass interface

Xiaomi has shared the list of devices that will support the new Soft Light Glass interface effect it will introduce with HyperOS 4. According to a compilation by BBC Türkçe, although the list has currently been announced for the Chinese market, the fact that support is determined by hardware power creates a similar expectation for equivalent models in the global market.

Soft Light Glass offers transparent, glass-like surfaces in the interface, light transitions, and visual effects that react to user movements. This structure creates a look similar to Apple's Liquid Glass design approach. However, because the effects require more graphics processing power, the feature will not come to every Xiaomi device.

According to the company's statement, in the first phase of the HyperOS 4 beta process, support will be limited to devices with Snapdragon 8 Elite or newer, Dimensity 9500 or newer, and Xring O1 or newer processors. Xiaomi states that this limit applies only to the first beta period and that it plans to expand the scope later.

MODELS ON THE SUPPORT LIST

Devices expected to receive Soft Light Glass support include the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4, MIX Fold 3, MIX Fold 2, and MIX Flip models. On the flagship side, the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 14, and Xiaomi 13 series are on the list.

While the Civi 5 Pro from the Xiaomi Civi series is included in the list, the K100 Pro series, K90 series, K80 series, and K70 series were shown among the supported models on the Redmi side. The Redmi K70E was excluded from this list.

In the Redmi Turbo series, the Turbo 5 Max, Turbo 5, and Turbo 4 Pro stand out. On the tablet side, in addition to the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, Pad 8, Pad 7 Ultra, and Pad 7S Pro, the Redmi K Pad 2 and Redmi K Pad were also included in the support list.

The HyperOS 4 beta program and Soft Light Glass distribution are currently being conducted only in China. Xiaomi has not yet announced a clear schedule for the global version. Therefore, the exact distribution date and model compatibility for users outside of China will be clarified later.
