Acun Ilıcalı responds to question about 1 billion pound sale of Hull City
Acun Ilıcalı answered questions regarding potential high-value offers for Hull City, stating he would not sell for 1 billion pounds.
Acun Ilıcalı made notable remarks regarding the potential sale of the English football club Hull City, which he owns. In a program broadcast on the Tandem Sports YouTube channel, Ilıcalı responded to questions from Melih Şendil about high-value offers, stating that he is not keen on the idea of selling the club.
When asked by Şendil, "If a crazy person appeared tomorrow and said, 'Here you go, brother, 1 billion pounds. Would you sell Hull City?'," Ilıcalı replied, "I wouldn't sell, and 1 billion pounds is also a very ambitious figure."
The possibility of a lower offer was also brought up during the conversation. Upon Şendil's remark, "An oligarch comes along and says, '500, Acun Ilıcalı'," Ilıcalı responded, "I wouldn't engage. I wouldn't grant an appointment. They wouldn't be able to see me, that is."
When asked about even higher figures, Ilıcalı noted that extreme offers could be evaluated differently, saying, "But if you are asking this; someone came with 1.5 billion... They offered something beyond comprehension. Would I sell then..."
Emphasizing that such figures should be evaluated on a rational basis, Ilıcalı said, "This is not a rational situation. It's like this; I mean, if someone came to you and said, 'I'll give you 500 million dollars, you won't work,' wouldn't you stop working? It's something like that."
