Alex de Souza linked to Süper Lig side

Following the end of the Metin Diyadin era at Trendyol Süper Lig side Gençlerbirliği, new names have begun to emerge for the head coaching position.

Club president Arda Çakmak had announced that Metin Diyadin could not be persuaded and had resigned from his post. Following this departure, the search for a new head coach has gained momentum at the red-and-black club.

During this process, it has been suggested that Fenerbahçe legend Alex de Souza was offered to Gençlerbirliği through agents. The 49-year-old Brazilian coach's name is being mentioned among the options the club may consider.

Alex de Souza previously served as a head coach in Turkey at Antalyaspor. The Brazilian manager has also coached Operário-PR, Avaí FC, and the São Paulo U20 team.

The experienced football figure is currently serving as the head coach of Brazilian Série B side Athletic Club. It remains a matter of curiosity what step Gençlerbirliği will take regarding their choice of head coach.
